Attended by IFBB President Dr. Rafael Santonja and AMI Vice-President Robin Chang, the first edition of the Olympia Amateur Spain has passed into the history as an important and needed IFBB event, attracted over 330 competitors from 38 countries and delivering at the end a fantastic battle for the Men’s Bodybuilding overall title, in which two top stars: Ahmed Ashkanani (Kuwait) and David Hoffmann (Germany) were tied 10:10. Finally, closer analysis of the judges scores brought the victory to Hoffmann, what is his best life achievement and opened to him the doors for turning pro.

A very tough battle was also run in Women’s Bikini-Fitness overall where the Spanish well-know star Maria Aranguren slightly outpointed three other champions from Russia, Slovakia and Czech Republic. She won her category at many top international events but was successful in the overall for the first time.

The next happy athletes winning overall titles are: Women’s Bodyfitness overall winner Elena Kirshchina (Azerbaijan), Men’s Physique overall winner Juan Faro Barros (Spain), Man’s Classic Bodybuilding overall winner Adil Barini (Spain).
