The first day of this year’s World Fitness Championships was devoted to Bodyfitness (all categories), Bikini Fitness (4 categories) and Wellness Fitness (both categories). But, as usual, it started with Women’s and Men’s Fitness both semifinals rounds (finals will be run on Sunday).
The first day was very fortunate for the Russian team as they won 7 of 10 gold medals, including 1 double win and 1 triple win. The rest of gold medals went to Brazil, Kosovo and Slovakia.

Bodyfitness overall title went to Svetlana Fiskova (Russia). So. Fiskova regained her world title won last year in Bialystok but now moved to the top in the overall. Silvia Taczala (Poland) repeated her silver medal won last year in Bodyfitness 158 cm class, 2016 world champion Katarzyna Dudek (Poland) now with silver medal in Bodyfitness 168 cm class. 2016 World Championships runner-up Marina Chamoun (Sweden) won the bronze medal but in the meantime added gold medal from the 2017 European Championships in Bodyfitness over 168 cm class, and Alzbeta Petkova (Slovakia) won the gold medal, following her 1st place at the 2017 European Championships in Bodyfitness 158 cm class.

Bikini Fitness is run in a new format, with 8 categories compared to 6 last year, so all champions are new. We can only compare the results to the 2017 continental championships.
In 158 cm class, 2017 European Championships runner-up Hanna Skvortsova (Ukraine) won the silver medal once again. In the meantime won the 2017 Arnold Europe. New world champion Alexandra Kaverina (Russia) is a new face in the Line-up. European champion Anna Baikina (Russia) in 4th place, Paula Mocior (Poland) moved up from 5th place last year in Bialystok to the 3rd position.
In 160 cm class, 2017 European Championships runner-up Yana Yenko (Ukraine) won the silver medal once again, 1 point behind the new world champion Elena Skvortsova (Russia), who moved up from 9th place last year in Bialystok to the top.
In 162 cm class, all 3 medals went to the Russian girls. European champion Elizaveta Mukminova in 2nd place, 2 points behind Hanna Kulinich. 2016 Worlds runner-up Karina Gavrikova (Hungary) in 5th place now.
In 164 cm class, 2017 European champion Kristina Korotka (Ukraine) won the silver medal this time, behind the unquestionable leader Mariia Barkhudarova (Russia). The next 4 champions will be declared on Sunday and the overall battle will also be run.

Wellness Fitness is included in the World Championships for the first time, so we have new, historical world champions.
In 163 cm class, the first European champion Gentiana Beqa (Kosovo) was declared the first world champion and also won the overall title. In the meantime she won the 2017 Arnold Europe. Silver medal went to Evelyn Dirocie (Dominican Republic) and bronze medal to Dagmara Dominiczak (Poland).
2017 Arnold Brazil overall winner Angela Borges (Brazil) won the tall class (+163 cm), ahead of Olga Kulinych (Russia and the second Brazilian Jeniffer Endriger.
