Ron Froehlich is President of the International World Games Association (IWGA), Council Member of the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), President Emeritus of the Association of Recognized IOC International Sports Federations (ARISF), and a member of the IOC Olympic Program Commission.

On Saturday, July 16, 2005, during the Finals of the Bodybuilding competition at the 2005 World Games, Theater am Marientor, Duisburg, Germany, Mr. Froehlich was honored with the IFBB Gold Order, the highest and most prestigious award of the International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness (IFBB).

"This distinct honor is bestowed upon Mr. Froehlich because of his leadership of the IWGA since 1992", said IFBB President Ben Weider, CM, CQ, SBStJ, PhD.

Every four years, the IWGA, under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), hosts the World Games. The IFBB is one of the 12 original founding members of the IWGA and, since the first Games in Santa Clara, California, USA in 1981, the IFBB has actively and successfully participated in all World Games.
