2008 victories of the Ukrainian newcomer at international scene, Evgenia Prutskova, is the best proof. She came and she won continental and world titles in the tallest class, over 168 cm. 2007 winner Yulia Zabelina took part in the Worlds only and finishing third she dropped out of the top ten in the Ranking.
The door for winning was opened to the 2007 Ranking runner-up Anna Rasputnyak (Russia); however losing the continental title to Valentina Zabiyaka, she lost her chance to dominate the Ranking.
The 3rd and 4th places went to the European overall champion Zrinka Korac (Croatia) and world champion Ingrida Blagusauskaite (Lithuania). Both made tremendous progress as they finished 44th and 45th respectively in the 2007 Ranking!
And then, in 5th place, Russian star Irina Molokova.
Olga Stepanyuk (Russia) advanced to 6th place in 2008 and the next Olga, Muntian (Ukraine), won the world title and moved up from 61st position to 7th place. Renata Jablonska (Poland) is the next international “newcomer” who entered the top. Nelli Tsyshkevich (Russia) and Miriam Sanchez (Spain) dropped a bit but remained in the top ten.
The second ten is opened by new faces, with great potential: Victoria Gutenco (Moldova), Magdalena Krajkowska (Poland) and Nina Moe (Norway).
