2012 ARNOLD STRONGMAN CLASSIC EUROPE CONTENDERS
Mike Jenkins, USA
Born: 1982
Residence: Westminster, Maryland, USA
Occupation: High School athletics director
Height: 198 cm
Bodyweight: 180 kg
Played football in a college, then as professional player but in 2007 moved to strongman. In 2010 won the inaugural Arnold Amateur Strongman World Championships, earned pro strongman card and was invited to the 2011 Arnold Strongman Classic. He placed 2nd at that event, behind Brian Shaw but ahead of the six-time winner Zydrunas Savickas.
At the 2011 World's Strongest Man finals he won the first two events but had to withdraw due to the back injury. Fully recuperated returned in 2012 and won the Arnold Strongman Classic ahead of the previous winners: Derek Poundstone, Zydrunas Savickas and Brian Shaw, what can be considered the biggest moment in his sport carrier. In March 2012 won the Giants Live in Melbourne, Australia, setting a new world record in the hip lift: incredible 1150 kg (2500 lb)!
This autumn will take part in the 2012 World's Strongest Man finals in Los Angeles, September 24 to October 1, and then in Arnold Classic Strongmen Europe in Madrid, October 12 -14, where he will meet the same three top opponents from Arnold Strongmen in Columbus, Ohio, this spring. A little revenge? Will confirm his domination in the strongman sport? Very difficult task but he is gifted, he is young, he is extremely strong.
