SOUTH AMERICAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2012 - PUNTA DEL ESTE, URUGUAY

The world famous tourist resort Punta del Este, Uruguay, will host the 2012 edition of this championship in its 38th year. Over 200 competitors from all the South American countries participate in this event.

The South American Federation’s President, Juan Fernando Paredes (Ecuador), working in close cooperation with IFBB Vice President Aquiles de Cesare (Uruguay) and the Organizing Committee with Julio Cejas and Inés Ramírez, together with support from the Uruguayan Sport Administration, have all worked together and taken the necessary steps to ensure a very successful edition.

This Championship is taking place two months before the World Men’s Championship and IFBB Congress that for the first time since the foundation of the IFBB (1946) will take place in South America, as a consequence of the great growth of our sport in the region.
