In 2009, the Arnold Sports Festival will be presented in four of Columbus’s premiere venues including the Franklin County Veterans Memorial, The Greater Columbus Convention Center, Nationwide Arena, and The Ohio Expo Center.
Venue Sites
The 2009 Arnold Amateur IFBB International Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure Championships will be held at two venues.
Prejudging for the Arnold Amateur Women’s Fitness and Figure will be held on the historic stage of the Franklin County Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 300 West Broad Street, at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2009. A general admission ticket may be purchased for $25 in advance at ticketmaster.com/Arnold or at the venue site on Thursday, March 5, 2009.
Prejudging for the Arnold Amateur Men’s and Women’s Bodybuilding will also be held on the stage of the Franklin County Veterans Memorial Auditorium, 300 West Broad Street, at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009. A general admission ticket may be purchased for $25 in advance at ticketmaster.com/Arnold or at the venue site on Thursday, March 5, 2009.
Finals for the 2009 Arnold Amateur IFBB International Bodybuilding, Fitness, and Figure Championships will be held on the Arnold Fitness EXPO stage at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, 200 North High Street, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009. A $10 Arnold Fitness EXPO ticket is required and may be purchased in advance at ticketmaster.com/Arnold or via telephone at 614-431-3600. Tickets may be purchased the morning of the event at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Categories
The categories accepted for the above mentioned championship are:
Male Bodybuilding: Bantamweight (<65kg), Lightweight (<70kg), Welterweight (<75kg), Middleweight (<85kg), Light-Heavyweight Men (<90kg), Heavyweight Men (<100kg), and Super-Heavyweight (>100kg).
Women’s Bodybuilding Classes:
____ Lightweight: Up to and including 125 lbs. (up to 56,7Kg)
____ Middleweight: 126 – 140 lbs. 56,7 Kg – 63,5Kg)
____ Heavyweight: 141 lbs. and over (63,6Kg and over)
Women’s Fitness Classes:
____ Short: Up to and including 5’-4” (up to 165cm)
____ Medium: Over 5’-4” and up to and including 5’-6” (up to and including 171cm)
____ Tall: Over 5’-6” (over 171cm)
Women’s Figure Classes (Bodyfitness):
____ A: Up to and including 5’1” (up to and including 155cm)
____ B: Over 5’1” Up to and including 5’2-1/2” (over 155cm up to and including 160cm)
____ C: Over 5’2-1/2” Up to and including 5’4” (over 160cm up to and including 165cm)
____ D: Over 5’4” Up to and including 5’5-1/2” (over 165cm up to and including 170cm)
____ E: Over 5’5-1/2” Up to and including 5’7” (over 170cm up to and including 174cm)
____ F: Over 5’7” (over 174cm)
Important Notice
The Organizer of the event in USA will not accept any direct registration except ones from Canada (through Canadian Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation) and United States of America (through NPC).
Entry Forms from athletes will only be considered if they are sent by the National Federation of the athlete and directly to IFBB Headquarters in Madrid.
The final decision to allow an athlete to compete in this event rests with the IFBB.
The Entry Form must be submitted to IFBB Head Office in Madrid with a brief resume of each athlete registered on the form.
ALL THE COSTS FOR TRAVAELING, HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS AND MEALS (AND TRANSPORT FROM AND TO THE AIRPORT) MUST BE COVERED BY THE NATIONAL FEDERATIONS. HOTEL RESERVATION MUST BE DONE BY DIRECT COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE NATIONAL FEDERATION AND THE HOTELS (List of recommended hotels and contacts are provided on the Inspection Report). THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE OR IFBB WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RESERVATION OR PAYMENT OF HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS, TRAVELING ARRANGEMENTS AND MEALS.
IFBB Registration Fee
Each Official Participant (Athlete and Delegates), must pay the IFBB Registration Fee of US$200. This Registration Fee is completely separate from the hotel security deposit.
Posing Music
All posing music must be on an audio CD only. The posing music must also be at the start of the CD. Each competitor must affix his name on the CD for easy identification.
Important Notice
The use of profane, vulgar and/or offensive language is strictly prohibited in the posing music.
Visa
Please consult the USA Embassy in your country to determine if you need a visa. An official Letter from the Organizer will be made available if required.

The mandatory athlete check-in will be held in the Wayne Brehm Room.
Free Arnold Expo Public Shuttle
Regularly scheduled Arnold Sports Festival free shuttle bus transportation will be available beginning Friday, March 6, 2009 at 7:00am. The free shuttle buses will marked as the Arnold EXPO Public Shuttle and will make frequent stops at all downtown hotels, Franklin County Veterans Memorial, The Greater Columbus Convention Center, Nationwide Arena, and on Friday, March 7 only, the Ohio Expo Center, Lausche Building.

Important notice to competitors
Each competitor will be provided with an athlete competitor wrist band at the Mandatory Competitor Check-In. This wrist band allows daily admission to the Arnold Fitness EXPO Friday, March 6, 2009 through Sunday, March 8, 2009. Any competitor in the Saturday, March 7, 2009 FINALS must wear this wrist band for admission into the competition hall at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
Important notice to trainers
No trainers will be permitted in the back stage area. Noncompliance with this rule will result in disqualification and possible suspension.
